CHSW includes 6 tennis courts, a baseball field, and a track/football field. The school is smoothly ran by 155 staff members, and has about 1750 students daily. West has a total of 203 different courses of study and 17 different courses in the Cranston Area Career & Technical Center. All of these courses are geared toward students academic abilities. After graduation about 52% of students will achieve a four-year degree while 22% will pursue a 2-year degree.

Community Background: Cranston High School West is located in the western side of Cranston, RI, in a suburban area. High school students whom live within western cranston attend CHSW, and those who do not attend CHSE (Cranston High School East). Families who reside in Western Cranston are majority middle class to upper middle class. The amount of students who graduate from CHSW is about the same as Barrington, which is an extremely wealthy community in Rhode Island. Most students who attend CHSW are not below poverty level,but 6.0% are,which is high compared to Barrington's 1.7%

Unfortunately for statistical reasons we can not fully rely on the information above, based on the statistics combining Western and Eastern Cranston. Even if West was high on their economy level- East could bring the level down. With that said- Western Cranston is a middle class community with some minor cases of economic distress. West is a community based school with many extra curricular activities for students to engage in outside of the classroom. The students are able to form closer bonds with teachers due to teacher-student ratio, which can help them accomplish their college application process.West is a great school that allows students to really understand responsibility and leadership.
